The Federation of Islamic Organizations in Holland Organizes a Number of Events for New Muslims and the Muslim Family
The Native European Muslim Assembly and the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Holland are running a program for “Developing Counselors for New Muslims” during the current week, with the participation of many du’ah and experts from Europe, Canada, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
At the same time the Federation is holding a series of events, including a lecture by Prof.Gamal Badawy on “The Rights of Women in Islam”, a subject which was chosen for its importance as well as its relevance to the Muslim Family in Europe Campaign which was initiated by the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe this year 2009. The lecture will be held in the large conference hall at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. A number of meetings will also be arranged for the guests of the Federation to meet with the officials of Islamic organizations active in Holland, to share ideas and expertise and discuss the latest developments in Europe.
These events come within the context of the Federation’s plan to activate the New Muslims file in Holland, hoping that they can meet their needs and help them achieve their aspirations, this will be done in cooperation with specialized organizations both local and international, keeping in mind the strategic importance of this file, with regards to da’wah to establish and propagate accurate moderate Islamic thought amongst this segment of Muslims.
These events are organized through specialized organizations such as Ontdek Islam (Discover Islam) and LPNM (The National Forum of New Muslim Organizations) with the objective of opening channels of communication between new Muslims and helping them to continue their religious education on a sound and accurate basis. They also aim to offer a harboring environment that supervises their implementation of what they have learnt in such a way that suits their specific circumstances and surroundings, and to help accommodate any consequences that might arise around them due to their embracing Islam.
This program will be held in the Islamic University in Rotterdam on the 12th and 13th of December 2009 and will be attended by a large number of new Muslims from Holland and other European regions.
